Last week, or thereabouts, =Kovitlac posed the challenge of taking a favourite song and drawing something inspired by it, and having nothing better to do with my five and a half days free a week I decided to take her up on that. The song was The Champion by Hammerfall [link] .

It's a LARP inspired picture based on a dream I had. The characters are Captain Laoch (foreground) and Ambekyer; Laoch is about to face Griffith, an undead lich king threatening to declare war upon the Dragon Faction, a war they cannot win, in the hope that if he can defeat Griffith, he'll call off his army before they are all killed. Knowing how likely it is that she'll never see him again, Ambekyer follows him to the citadel to say goodbye before he goes to his inevitable death.

I'm wired on Lucozade (doesn't take much) and have been inking and colouring this for the last two hours or so. I'm happy with it. I at least had the approval of the owner of Laoch's character, so that was more or less enough for me. Please feel free to critique me, I'm here to improve. (Hey, I'm being daring attempting that much colouring in my opinion!) Enjoy!

EDIT: In the dream, Laoch did in fact beat Griffith and the Dragons came out on top. This weekend at Clare, Laoch did face Griffith, and died spectacularly. RIP Captain, nice knowing you.
